How to cure a babbelas in Stellies
Sitting here on this lovely Thursday morning after a great Wednesday evening and a hangover I wish upon no one I wondered.
How can I cure my “very painful, feeling sorry for myself” hangover?
Eat a good breakfast
Eating a good breakfast after a night of partying can help maintain your blood sugar levels, provide important vitamins and minerals, but it is not that easy as healthline.com makes it out to be. If you are in my shoes or in fact in any student's shoes on a Thursday morning with a babbelas, and you can’t afford a hearty breakfast….. Don’t stress my fellow babbelas friends here are a few places in Stellies with a breakfast under R100.
Man’oushe is the ultimate breakfast spot with a breakfast bun special of R19!
Java Bistro: They have a sunrise breakfast for only R29 including coffee or tea
The meeting place: 2 eggs, 2 streaks of bacon, and toast for R65.
Have a pick-me-upper
The only way to cure a hangover properly is with a pick-me-upper. Sleep in and then go and enjoy a brunch with a special orange juice (Mimosa) at Backs eatery. Alcohol served from 11 am. The other place with the best pick-me-upper is Hudsons - The Burger Joint. What better way to cure a hangover than going to Hudsons for a Coronarita Cocktail and a Hudsons burger!
Ginger Shot
Eish, love the second word but the first....I'm not that sure.
This is not my type of pick me upper but for the healthy people, go and treat your liver to an amazing ginger shot or juice at De Warenmarkt. Drinking a ginger shot will help with nausea and headaches. This will also get you ready for a jog or round two.
Hold up on the caffeine
Try to ease off on the caffeine in the morning after a night of partying. Caffeine can dehydrate your body further. It's definitely hard not to get a coffee at Vida e Caffè with a free chocolate on the side, but hold on and drink loads of water and then go and get you one!
Get some sleep
Feel sorry for yourself and just sleep it off! Any student in Stellenbosch will tell you the best way to get rid of a babbelas is to skip your early morning classes, ask a friend to get you a wrap at En Route and just sleep.
The summary of this blog, my fellow babbelas friends is that there are lots of ways to treat a babbelas but after careful consideration and practical research, I’m going to tell you the best way to cure a hangover.
Don’t drink, but that’s so unrealistic. Almost like telling yourself you are not doing robots at De Lapa.
